A squeaky clean record of health & safety with eSquiggles

Advance Cleaning is one of the UK’s leading contract cleaning specialists with a number of major contracts including window cleaning at the ‘Gherkin’ building in London. Providing services such as rope access cleaning requires high levels of training and adhering to stringent health and safety procedures. Legal obligations, increased levels of onsite training and the need for accuracy around record keeping led to a move to electronic working.
David Saville, Director of Advance Cleaning explains, “We employ a number of highly skilled operatives who are out on various sites with varying health & safety processes and requirements. There are a number of risk assessments and on-site training surveys which need to be carried out regularly. It is crucial that these are carried out but it is just as important that they are recorded accurately and timely in order that we remain compliant with Health & Safety legislation. The amount of time spent on paperwork was two-fold. Recording on-site risk assessments and training data by hand, but also in actually distributing the day’s jobs to our workforce. By using PDA software, we can communicate remotely with our staff and distribute their day’s tasks and associated surveys direct to their PDA, which can be completed and returned electronically via the PDA. Administration and travel costs are reducing and we now have an automated and audited process for health and safety, which gives Advance Cleaning and our client base peace of mind.”
