eSquiggles is built as a modular system, with a suite of core features and tools combined with optional functions which can enhance levels of productivity and return on investment. This model means that the solution is affordable to organisations which require basic levels of electronic data collection and to those which require more sophisticated functionality and integration with existing IT systems.

The mobile application has a clean look and feel, making it easy to navigate around. It is tailorable to any industry, with the electronic forms being as complex or simple as an organisation requires.

A large number of organisations work with partners or subcontractors and subsequently have a need to share information on jobs or services being provided. The client portal function within eSquiggles is accessed in a similar way to a company Intranet/Extranet and allows remote and secure access to job information in real time.
For example, an organisation may wish to gain an update on a certain job quickly or add more jobs under a project area. The portal allows remote access thus removing the need to update partners or subcontractors manually via telephone or email. The portal is also capable of running powerful reports which allow contractors and subcontractors to report against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) or Service Level Agreements (SLAs). These types of reporting mechanisms are particularly beneficial to those organisations delivering services as part of a consortium or as part of large scale projects such as Public Private Partnerships (PPPs).
The Asset Management function within eSquiggles is a fully integrated module for the complete management and tracking of assets. The system allows the creation of an asset register with the ability to capture data and interrogate asset information on the field using the PDA. Through the use of bar-coding, assets are assigned a Unique Asset Number which enable assets to be identified more easily by field service workers. Assets can be tracked, asset registers maintained and jobs can be associated with an asset, meaning service or inspection history on a particular asset is much easier to review.
For many services which are provided out on the field, a document such as a customer quote or “Bill of Materials” is often the end result of a site survey. Many field workers will gather data manually which has to be returned to the office and typed into a quote – taking time to produce and slowing down the process of providing the actual service.
eSquiggles has embedded functionality which allows field workers to quickly enter data and/or measurements and to select materials and costs from pre-defined lists. Within seconds the cost of quote and full bill of materials required has been calculated and produced in the standard company quote template. As each job is completed, the bill of materials is sent back electronically to the office, alerting staff instantly of parts which need ordered. If required, the quote can also be printed onsite, providing the customer with the quote instantly.
Administration times and overhead costs are reduced significantly and the full process of gaining customer approval, ordering parts and commencing the service provision takes a fraction of the time.
Although the task of collecting data onsite can be extremely time consuming for a field worker, for a business the task of taking new orders and effectively scheduling out the jobs can be equally as time consuming.
eSquiggles has comprehensive job scheduling and resource planning features which manage the full job scheduling process from call logging through to allocation and job completion. Clients using these features have found that jobs are not only scheduled in a quicker and easier way, but the way they are allocated is more efficient to the business. Jobs can be allocated automatically dependent on field workers’ utilisation, by field workers specialisms’ or during tight timescales, dependent on field workers’ geographic location.

A key feature of eSquiggles is the facility to convert all data collected into a standard company report template at the click of a button. Whether the report is a one page summary of assessment details or a more lengthy report, all data collected is automatically embedded into the company template. This eliminates the need to retype the data collected onsite and significantly reduces the administrative process.
